PRAYERS Pope Francis not too long ago ask for us to pray for the farmers.   They need prayers the drought in India is horrible and in some places going on for over two years.   Many farmers do not have the money for insurance to protect them from the effects of a drought.   It is so bad in some places families can only get 10 liters twice a week to do everything requiring the use of water.   This is NOT drinking water but desperation dictates otherwise.   Bottle water which normally goes for 30 rupees for a 20-liter bottle cost the suffering 30+ rupees for a liter bottle a big chunk out of their bleeding income. MONSOON 2015 TAMIL NADU My Life in India Praise God the Monsoon finally rested upon Tamil Nadu, India.  It has been a long drought which caused all rivers, lakes, ponds, and brooks to literally dry up and become pasture land for livestock.  Then there was the stealing of the sand from the riverbeds for the corrupt “Sand Mafia” while lining the pockets of many who look the other way.  The drought chased away the bird migration to the sanctuaries making them close down for over a year.  The water began reseeding in 2012 with full drought in play by the beginning of 2014 to present day.  I made a conscience commitment to pray for the end of the drought at the beginning of 2015 daily and for every drop of water that fell from the heavens I PRAISED GOD even if the rain lasted for a few minutes.  I prayed prayers of thanksgiving.  I will admit I was disappointed in the long wait between rains and the lengths but I was not giving up for I t...

THE FIELDS ARE ALIVE We have been in a drought for the last two and half years in Tamil Nadu, India 2014 being the worst year thus far.  The rivers are dried completely as is the lakes.  Where the water once flowed so beautifully is now filled with bushes, tiger grass and has become the feeding place for cows and goats.   The bustling children enjoying the water as they splashed and played has become a desert silence.  The clothes being washed and spread out to dry are no more there is nothing but a wasteland.  The various migrating birds whom spent their winters in Southern India are but a fleeting memory of watching them and their antics while taking photographs.  The cat fish that were seemingly bigger than life are now gone and passed away.
