FAITH The precious jewel of our heart and soul is faith. It is the entity that drives our heart and soul to experience a journey of truth, action that strengthen us to a lively faith and unwavering trust. EVIL Evil manifests itself by words and actions it is rampant through anger and pride.  Evil is the friend of the double hearted man whose worldly views supersedes the word of God.  The double hearted man wants to fit his actions stemming from evil and fit into his spiritual beliefs.   Justification of evil’s thoughts words and actions stems from the world’s view of right and wrong.  Evil is like wolves it runs in packs while devouring and destroying all in its path.  The Light of the world is darkened by the hatred coming from evil corrupt hearts which picks and  chooses  the evil that it will follow.  The world is at war not only with the known enemies but within itself as individuals.  The worlds idea to keep all “SAFE” Is to suppress the innocent without conscience or qualms.  One person it takes to post or speak of a rumors of half-truths that serves the double heart of man’s evil we latch onto it like a leach....

    CLOUDED The world is outraged by the actions of terrorist groups like ISIS and others. We abhor the actions of these groups as we witness most of us through the media; deaths, burning, decapitation, the results of torture and the like. They kidnapped children and brainwash them and use them as human shields and suicide bombers. They persecute humanity for their religious beliefs that is not their sickness of spirituality. They force girl child at virtually any age to be a slave for themselves in the most insidious and corrupt manner destroying dignity and the most sacredness of a female, her virginity. THE WORLD A GATED COMMUNITY I dislike the concept of a gated community a place to live and keep out those one abhors. Many gated communities have all in place from health care, malls, recreational parks, security, schools and the list goes on. Our children cannot inner act with those we deem undesirable by race, creed or color, in another words they must have our moral high ground look and be like us. What makes us think we are in the right? The world has become this gated community that makes decisions on lives that are suffering, oppressed, under tyranny, religious persecution, that are looking for mercy and help. That super powers have obliterated their country to a heap of rubble and we ask why should we take them in? We force them to beg for mercy at the barbwire fences guarded by troops /police with an arsenal of weapons to stop them. Life From Conception The battle of the human existence for a child begins at conception and since without a doubt life begins here many children are in trouble. The atrocities and total disregard for these vulnerable has become worldwide with the intolerance of their plight ignored by and large except for a dedicated few. The murdering of the Unborn is fiercely a lack of conscience for life and this river flows to many children given life only to be enslaved. Children are enslaved on many fronts some because of poverty where they are forced to work to help meet the daily expenses to survive. The children can be as young as five. They are denied an education, the working conditions are deplorable and the food given them is one meal equal to about two pieces of bread. They are expected to work long and odd hours and if they are lived in help to be at the beck and call of the family. ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI The world is in turmoil on many fronts and the suffering seems endless.  The poor, marginalized, vulnerable, helpless, unborn, children and the like are victims of abuse, hatred, governmental red tape, war, environmental concerns, and the like.  Many are not given their humanitarian rights, freedom of expression and or religion.  They are pushed around seen as a non-entity and live in poverty.  The help given keeps many pushed down and those in refugee camps are there for generations to come without hope at the merciless hearts of others.  Babies are being born in some of these camps such as the ones in Turkey whom are not given documents such as a birth certificate.  They are babies without a country or proof they were ever born.  However, in the horror of this surly brief example of what is going on there are the people of God who keep the plight of the forgotten alive and those who serve them.  Many work again...

DAYS GONE BY I am a baby boomer and my post war childhood was free, playful, and full of love.   My biggest decisions rested mostly on playtime and what’s there to eat.   My family of five consisted of my parents, me (the oldest) and two brothers.   My paternal grandparents lived on our three acre farm in a small home of their own.   My father worked two jobs, my grandpa took care of the farm, including chickens, a calf, Sam the lamb, two hunting beagles, a few goats and a huge garden.  My grandmother (in picture with me) and mom sold roasting chickens, eggs and preserved the produce from the garden for winter consumption. THE FIELDS ARE ALIVE We have been in a drought for the last two and half years in Tamil Nadu, India 2014 being the worst year thus far.  The rivers are dried completely as is the lakes.  Where the water once flowed so beautifully is now filled with bushes, tiger grass and has become the feeding place for cows and goats.   The bustling children enjoying the water as they splashed and played has become a desert silence.  The clothes being washed and spread out to dry are no more there is nothing but a wasteland.  The various migrating birds whom spent their winters in Southern India are but a fleeting memory of watching them and their antics while taking photographs.  The cat fish that were seemingly bigger than life are now gone and passed away. SHOP UNTIL WE DROP The universal call to most especially women is shopping nothing is more accelerating.  Shopping is not always want it can be need but there is something about going around stores and spending.  This time can be spent with family and friends and it mixes well with idle chatter and or gossiping with most assuredly grabbing a bite to eat.  The smells coming from shops offering food can make you drool and making you feel as if you can eat your way throughout the whole shopping outing.  We look at the latest fashions and even try them on knowing full well that expenditure is not in the budget but for a fleeting moment we are what we put on…WOW!  At malls especially we can sit and people watch and gleam some insight in how the rest of society is doing. I AM AN OUTCAST A NOBODY All human beings have a fundamental right to life, liberties and creed within the decorum of a civilized society whom follows the laws and norms.  No man has a right to dictate the life live in this society because of hatred, prejudices, or the power one hold sway over another. The Burma government feels it does not have to follow the norms of society and in a cold, calculating and devious way have done just that to the Rohingya Community (tribe, minority group).  The Rohingya have no freedoms and are held NOT in a refugee camp but live in a concentration camp existence. They are denied the basic human rights of food, clothing, medical treatment, and dignified living conditions.  They are surrounded by armed guards confined to wastelands in the Western part of Burma. ENCAGING OF THE MIND BODY SPIRIT The dominance of one over another is so prevalent as our world turns.  I am not sure how wide spread is has been but the information highway informs it is a rampaged shove upon us.  In some places freedom allows for a check and balance system to hopefully nip in the bud any choking dominance of taking over our lives however, it is not true of all governments and countries around the word. The continuing coverage of the #wars going throughout the world as #Pope Francis coined this is as WORLD WAR III piecemealed must not ever forget the sufferings of those caught up in these wars. The worst thing that can happen to them now that they are displaced in the world is to be #FORGOTTEN. The news media as they cover these wars easily shift from one news breaking moment to the next leaving behind the suffering and how are they doing. These flash news stories that sensationalize the escaping plight of the suffering drops after they are conditionally free. However, do we realize the overwhelming changes they will endure perhaps for generations to come? The suffering are placed in refugee camps and understandably so but can we comprehend a life now with no country, no homes, loss of families, traditions, religious freedoms, and a whole way of life lived for generations. What is seen in the reflection of the eye of an abused child is it’s ABUSER. A child does not see the innocence of their station in life but only pain and horror. It is horrible enough the abuse coming from an outsider but the crushing blow to the heart and spirit of a child is when the act comes from a parent or sibling. We at WE A SERVANT OF CHRIST MISSION see and are told from the children who come to the mission about beatings received mostly by the fathers for one reason or another. The children use the word beating and the age of the child holds no merit. I witness two days ago a 20 year old woman being hit by her father and mother before going to work and the another night a child being hit on the head by her father. Last night some of the children gathered at the mission and among them were a 9 year old child who comes sporadically since her father made it known not directly to the mission but to the neighborhood and the child of his discontent. There is much to understand about the plight of the suffering child.   It is only when we can feel and understand the depth of their suffering then and only then can we pray with a heart of compassion to Our Lord and seek to be aware of every child and their suffering.   These children do NOT need our superficial pity “the ah poor thing if you will.”  Our pray should supersede “Lord help them.”   In Our Lord’s mercy we seek for them is to dig deep within ourselves and show mercy.  We must be prepared to do something tangible starting in our own homes and branching out to family, friends, acquaintance and stranger.  We cannot SAVE every child on a grand scale by ourselves but collectively we can make a difference, which will work.  It is my hope in this series of Blogs on this very subject broken down I hope to convey the suffering child.  It is my hope to make us understand that not every child knows about our Lord or that He even ex...
