SPIRITUAL LESSON This Sunday having 30 minutes to kill before I had to dress for mass I sat outside in the beauty of the morning sunlight.  As I sat there I was talking to Papa God in thanksgiving and bemoaning to Him a small problem for I am a firm believer in BUGGING our Lord in all things and circumstances.  As I was explaining my plight a mother with her son passed very slowly in front of my gate.  They were unaware I was sitting there.  What I saw and the lesson it taught me came within the 30 minutes. The mother was disheveled, dress tattered, and hair was stringy and dirty.  She carried a bag partially filled along with a walking stick.  Her emotionless face of suffering hid her age she looks old.  As she walks she was talking either to her son or to herself. The horrific violation of one’s person is the action of rape. It is without a doubt the single action that not only effects the body but the heart and soul of the one being violated. Terrorism is the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims and this generally how we all see the act of terrorism however, in thinking about this, one could come to the conclusion we are terrorists. Our weapon is not military hardware but our mouths which can spew out our hateful hearts. We do not behead however, we can imprison, torture, oppress, break down and even murder one’s spirit. Proverb 12:18a there is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword…is this us? Harsh words spewed from a hurtful heart can cause the otherwise strong to crumble under those words. Like a verbally abused child who tries to understand their wrongs while not seeing the wrong is not in them. JMJ + #Pope Francis speaks often we are ALL called to be saints. #Jesus states in Matthew 16:24-28 in this verse (layer with many spiritual gems) “Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his #cross and follow me.” However, for us all the task at hand seems daunting and unattainable since we know ourselves so well through our weakness, sins and bondages we shoot ourselves down before we even try. We seem to think this is all on us without help thus, impossible. However, our Lord tells us ALL is possible with Him and He knows that we cannot do this by ourselves He sees our hearts and knows us inside out thus He is well equip to give what is needed for the individual quest to be a saint . There is much to understand about the plight of the suffering child.   It is only when we can feel and understand the depth of their suffering then and only then can we pray with a heart of compassion to Our Lord and seek to be aware of every child and their suffering.   These children do NOT need our superficial pity “the ah poor thing if you will.”  Our pray should supersede “Lord help them.”   In Our Lord’s mercy we seek for them is to dig deep within ourselves and show mercy.  We must be prepared to do something tangible starting in our own homes and branching out to family, friends, acquaintance and stranger.  We cannot SAVE every child on a grand scale by ourselves but collectively we can make a difference, which will work.  It is my hope in this series of Blogs on this very subject broken down I hope to convey the suffering child.  It is my hope to make us understand that not every child knows about our Lord or that He even ex...
