Pope francis  Love, Compassion, mercy I love Pope Francis and since day one of his pontificate he sings my songs.  His love of the suffering and deep commitment to their  well-being  unfortunately falls on the deaf ears of all Catholic nations.  It is so easy to come up with excuses why the bob wires and virtual casting out of humanity that are in grave danger.  It is shameful and I for one cannot understand the teachings of Christ being portrayed in this way without the same He has given us.  It is upsetting to me to read the hatred spewed and vengeance.  Why is this for many of us have not experience this kind of suffering with rejection in its highest form.  These refugees did not want to leave their homes, possessions, family life and take a perilous journey to find hope and a new life.   The Holy Father speaks of this situation in many of his homilies however, the majority have turned their backs on this crisis...

BUCKET LIST Mercy I made notation to write on Mercy after Pope Francis announced this year starting on December 8, 2015 would be the Jubilee Year of MERCY.  I had seen the movie the Bucket List and thought this would be a great approach for enlighten of MERCY for us all using the traditional Corporal and Spiritual Works of MERCY.  However, like all blogs I pray and mull its direction over with Our Lord and He changed it.  The growing fears, prejudices, and decisions being made influenced by media and worldly views is  muddying  the waters of the teachings of Christ.   First and foremost we are CHRISTIANS and espouse the word of Jesus Christ.  There is no fear in this deep spiritual relationship with Him.  He told us to take up our cross and follow Him and that road is treacherous to say the least especially in times such as these.  We cannot or should not put conditions on MERCY because of our feeling that goes agai...

PAPA GOD I pray to Papa God daily in my prayers however, when I am in big time trouble I seek Him as a daughter to her papa for He is the only one who really knows me inside out.  Whatever, the crises I am going through I trust He sees the bigger picture through my stress and anxieties and my faith assures me in His perfection, there is a light at the end of my doom and gloom.  In this past year a lump appeared on my abdomen and like any nurse I fell into the trap of self-diagnosing the problem and came up with it was a hernia a condition I am prone too.  I was told go to see a doctor here in India an idea that was fearful to me.  My fear stem from the unending bad reports and problems brought to light about hospitals, outdated medications given, reusing of needles and the list goes on.  I know in my head that all Indian Doctors are not bad they are faithful and dedicated to their calling to serve the sick however, my heart and head were not in sy...

I SURRENDER ALL TO YOu I look forward to my personal retreats at POONDI MADHA BASILICA and this last time I went was no exception.  To reach the Basilica in India is no easy task the roads are narrow in many places but the picturesque view of the river and dam site is breath taking.  The banana leaves in their richness of color shimmer in the sunlight and on occasion one can see a peacock.  Poondi is a classic retreat place the rooms have only bed, bathroom, ceiling fan, one chair and small table.  The distractions and comforts one might need are null and void after all one is there to reconnect with Our Lord uninterrupted by the noise, entertainment, and problems of one’s personal life or the world itself.  Even the food is plain and basic with few choices from the restaurant on campus.  There are no other options.  This time at Poondi is truly a time of prayer, mass, adoration, and confession.   As for myself although I have a d...

Terrorism is the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims and this generally how we all see the act of terrorism however, in thinking about this, one could come to the conclusion we are terrorists. Our weapon is not military hardware but our mouths which can spew out our hateful hearts. We do not behead however, we can imprison, torture, oppress, break down and even murder one’s spirit. Proverb 12:18a there is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword…is this us? Harsh words spewed from a hurtful heart can cause the otherwise strong to crumble under those words. Like a verbally abused child who tries to understand their wrongs while not seeing the wrong is not in them. What is seen in the reflection of the eye of an abused child is it’s ABUSER. A child does not see the innocence of their station in life but only pain and horror. It is horrible enough the abuse coming from an outsider but the crushing blow to the heart and spirit of a child is when the act comes from a parent or sibling. We at WE A SERVANT OF CHRIST MISSION see and are told from the children who come to the mission about beatings received mostly by the fathers for one reason or another. The children use the word beating and the age of the child holds no merit. I witness two days ago a 20 year old woman being hit by her father and mother before going to work and the another night a child being hit on the head by her father. Last night some of the children gathered at the mission and among them were a 9 year old child who comes sporadically since her father made it known not directly to the mission but to the neighborhood and the child of his discontent. There is much to understand about the plight of the suffering child.   It is only when we can feel and understand the depth of their suffering then and only then can we pray with a heart of compassion to Our Lord and seek to be aware of every child and their suffering.   These children do NOT need our superficial pity “the ah poor thing if you will.”  Our pray should supersede “Lord help them.”   In Our Lord’s mercy we seek for them is to dig deep within ourselves and show mercy.  We must be prepared to do something tangible starting in our own homes and branching out to family, friends, acquaintance and stranger.  We cannot SAVE every child on a grand scale by ourselves but collectively we can make a difference, which will work.  It is my hope in this series of Blogs on this very subject broken down I hope to convey the suffering child.  It is my hope to make us understand that not every child knows about our Lord or that He even ex...
