CHRISTIAN ADULTERY AND GOD
(MEDITATION FOR LENT 2014)
Adulterers! Do not you know that to be a lover of the world means enmity with God?  Therefore, whoever wants to be a lover of the world makes himself an enemy of God.  Or do you suppose that the scripture speaks without meaning when it says," The spirit that He has made to dwell in us tends toward jealousy?"
James 4: 4-5

Those of us who are Christians have a calling to be FAITHFUL, TRUSTFUL and live up to our proclaiming LOVE of our Lord to live the words of our lips, the treasure of our hearts and the actions of our lives to be committed to the truth we proclaim. The question is do we?
The world is the enticer to our commitment and faithfulness to our Lord. We CANNOT expect to live in all the seductions of the world and stay faithful to our Lord.  The seductions are sublet and before we know it when our guards are down, excuses ready we are unfaithful to our Lord.  We find what we DESIRE IN OUR FLESH supersede what we NEED to live in this world and our spiritual life.  WE ARE A WANT PEOPLE! 
 
The blessing of shelter, food, job, clothing, family, children and the like are cursed by us in our complaints and dissatisfaction because it DOES NOT measure up and the BLESSINGS of our Lord become a curse NOT a blessing.

We CANNOT say we are FAITHFUL and be DISCONTENT with our Lord, it is an oxymoron.
For you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD. whose name is Jealous is a jealous God
Exodus 34:14

 "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND"
( First Commandment)

We are call to LOVE, SERVE, our Lord in FIDELITY and TRUST. Nothing comes before Him and trying to justify a balancing act between the world and our Lord makes for a JEALOUS GOD therefore, do not live an adulterous lifestyle with our Lord and expect it to be ACCEPTABLE to Him; He is adamant it is NOT!
" No one can serve two masters.  Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.  You cannot serve God and money."
Matthew 6:24

The horrific violation of one’s person is the action of rape. It is without a doubt the single action that not only effects the body but the heart and soul of the one being violated. It is difficult even now to understand the actions, mind set and the heart of one whom commits the heinous act of violating another’s body. RETURNING

  It has been at least four years since I have written anything.  My mission life came to a halt in 2018 when I became very ill while in India.  I spent two and half months in a hospital in India with a 5% chance of survival from my surgery and a 5% chance of surviving Critical Care.  I received amazing care. I was sent back to the states for further treatment especially since I lost my ability to walk.  It was physiological.  It took 9 months before I could walk but walk I did.  The surgery left me with a Colostomy which was troublesome, to say the least.  However, in June of this year, I had a colostomy reversal which was a success and all is back to normal.  I am in a Nursing Home with other medical issues.  It took me until now to accept my life here.  I am in a private room which allows me my quiet, prayer time, crocheting and interacting with friends in the home.   I decided this morning to go back to writing...I hope you will take this journey with me.   Linda Mary Liotino
