RAPE

The horrific violation of one’s person is the action of rape. It is without a doubt the single action that not only effects the body but the heart and soul of the one being violated. It is difficult even now to understand the actions, mind set and the heart of one whom commits the heinous act of violating another’s body. Although these persons are human one cannot see them but as animals dark in nature without redemption and yet we are mandated from our Lord to forgive…MARK 11:25 “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” However, it well to note here we are forgiven by our Lord when we ask for forgiveness with a repentant and contrite heart as should the rapist seek this same road of forgiveness towards those whom have been violated. Rape is not an easy course of securing justice for the violator. Often times the history of the life of the violated is so scrutinized it leaves one to wonder how blind justice is to one seeking justice. One is violated by the rape and raped again in the legal justice system. The violation of the violated in this barbaric way is called to understand the rapist from a list of many excuses such as the manner of dress of the violated, actions of their past lives of the violator against them, the age and immaturity of the violator, under the influence of drugs, alcohol, and list goes on. The fear and insecurity cannot easily washed away. The memories is all consuming to many leading to a change of the freedoms of life to a self-imposed prison of mind, body and spirit. This act can cause lifetime of suffering especially if the violation is committed against an innocent child. Most rapes are committed by men and the old adage of protecting the male violator because of his age and future of his life is at stake, slaps all that is moral, justice and spits in the face of our Lord. The road to recovery is a long process from such an unconscionable violation to another. I am one of the violated… ©Linda Mary Liotino ME A SERVANT OF CHRIST MISSION 2014 Commissioned pencil art for the purpose of this blog owned by Linda Mary Liotino ARTIST: FRANCO JOSEPH
