SHOP UNTIL WE DROP

The universal call to most especially women is shopping nothing is more accelerating.  Shopping is not always want it can be need but there is something about going around stores and spending.  This time can be spent with family and friends and it mixes well with idle chatter and or gossiping with most assuredly grabbing a bite to eat. 

The smells coming from shops offering food can make you drool and making you feel as if you can eat your way throughout the whole shopping outing.  We look at the latest fashions and even try them on knowing full well that expenditure is not in the budget but for a fleeting moment we are what we put on…WOW!  At malls especially we can sit and people watch and gleam some insight in how the rest of society is doing.

Children especially love to be taken on a shopping excursion for they will assuredly get goodies to eat and no doubt a cheap toy that will be broken by days end.  Balloons can be bought but often times given away to the kids which are tied around their wrists as not to get away and hopefully does not burst before they get home.

The joy and jubilant of shopping is not always shared by all often times a big time spending shopping can turn into a spree and the cash which is depleted all too soon makes one to use their plastic.   Smiles can turn to frowns once the billed charges come to everyone’s attention including the spender but until then it is fun SHOPPING UNTIL WE DROP!

RETURNING

  It has been at least four years since I have written anything.  My mission life came to a halt in 2018 when I became very ill while in India.  I spent two and half months in a hospital in India with a 5% chance of survival from my surgery and a 5% chance of surviving Critical Care.  I received amazing care. I was sent back to the states for further treatment especially since I lost my ability to walk.  It was physiological.  It took 9 months before I could walk but walk I did.  The surgery left me with a Colostomy which was troublesome, to say the least.  However, in June of this year, I had a colostomy reversal which was a success and all is back to normal.  I am in a Nursing Home with other medical issues.  It took me until now to accept my life here.  I am in a private room which allows me my quiet, prayer time, crocheting and interacting with friends in the home.   I decided this morning to go back to writing...I hope you will take this journey with me.   Linda Mary Liotino
