STONE CUTTER

The village of Uthiramerur is built on large boulders.  Our neighbor’s land had what started out to be a four foot projected boulder.  He hired a Stone Cutter to begin the process of removing the boulder.  The Stone Cutter uses a five inch iron chisel and an iron hammer.  He also uses an iron sledge hammer and iron rod to pull up the broken pieces of the boulder.

The photograph depicts to me a Stone Cutter using ancient old method who knows his craft perfectly but who in his humility bows to the wisdom given to him by the old man.

It reminded me no matter what we know or what we do that wisdom is always in those who came before us and have live life longer…RESPECT THE ELDERLY!

RETURNING

  It has been at least four years since I have written anything.  My mission life came to a halt in 2018 when I became very ill while in India.  I spent two and half months in a hospital in India with a 5% chance of survival from my surgery and a 5% chance of surviving Critical Care.  I received amazing care. I was sent back to the states for further treatment especially since I lost my ability to walk.  It was physiological.  It took 9 months before I could walk but walk I did.  The surgery left me with a Colostomy which was troublesome, to say the least.  However, in June of this year, I had a colostomy reversal which was a success and all is back to normal.  I am in a Nursing Home with other medical issues.  It took me until now to accept my life here.  I am in a private room which allows me my quiet, prayer time, crocheting and interacting with friends in the home.   I decided this morning to go back to writing...I hope you will take this journey with me.   Linda Mary Liotino
