I arrived in Mumbai, India on September 8, 2009 from a direct flight of 18 hours from the USA. I was met at the airport by my Indian friend and mission partner I met on My Space Franco Joseph. The circumstance that lead this 63 year old woman to make this decision to go to India leaving family and friends while giving away all my worldly possessions was because I was called by Our Lord. I came to India with only two 50 LB suitcases, 27 LB carry on, which now held all my worldly possessions.
The miracles of Our Lord that continues to bless my life I note here in praise and thanksgiving.
When I received the calling I had been living a rather reclusive life due to heart problems tempered with secondary conditions. I walked with a walker, slept in a recliner chair, and only left my apartment about four times a year for medical appointments. My life was prayer, taking care of my grandson, having someone do my shopping and bring me the Holy Eucharist and visits from family, friends and spiritual director. I was resolved this was my life and I was happy and at peace.
When the calling came I packed up my walker and started to walk with a cane with a daily morning regiment of walking around the apartment. When I first started out I could not walk from one crack in the sidewalk to the next without crying from the pain however, I entrusted every step to Our Lord and made progress. While walking I prayed the rosary knowing Our Blessed Mother prayed my every step I took with me.
Owing to this calling I so believed in I never doubted it even in my most frustrating times of pain and suffering to ready for this new life. I was never unsure or afraid I was faithfully confident that I was called. I boarded that plane with Our Lord and my Blessed Mother's prayers I was OK. All the doubts and trepidation of family and friends before I left could't touch the calling or make me doubt it.
The miracles in my life since I came to India has continued with the miraculous healing from Uterine cancer operation and returning to India within four weeks much to my doctors chagrin. I refused chemo as a precautionary measure and I am fine Praise God.
I am now 68 still have a heart condition and all that entails but hey with every slow moving step Our Lord walks with me and provides all I need for the next step and the next and next. I live a miracle life and I only have touched the tip of the iceberg of His love and mercy for me...Linda Mary.
