THE WORLD A GATED COMMUNITY

Image
THE WORLD A GATED COMMUNITY I dislike the concept of a gated community a place to live and keep out those one abhors. Many gated communities have all in place from health care, malls, recreational parks, security, schools and the list goes on. Our children cannot inner act with those we deem undesirable by race, creed or color, in another words they must have our moral high ground look and be like us. What makes us think we are in the right? The world has become this gated community that makes decisions on lives that are suffering, oppressed, under tyranny, religious persecution, that are looking for mercy and help. That super powers have obliterated their country to a heap of rubble and we ask why should we take them in? We force them to beg for mercy at the barbwire fences guarded by troops /police with an arsenal of weapons to stop them. We do not care save a few that they live in squalor conditions, having to sleep outside in all weather conditions or ...

Mother angelica Mother Angelica served as my spiritual director.  Her programs on EWTN served in part to catapult my conversion the other being Mother Teresa in 2003.  I was on a long journey and for every step I took the more confused I got.  However, the merciful heart of Jesus would place Mother Angelica in my life resulting in placing my faith and trust on solid ground.  Her teachings and talks bought my relationship of Christ Jesus to a journey which to this day I am soaked in many graces, blessings and miracles. I wrote to her letting her know about my joys and struggles.  She would send me books and rosaries one which I have and pray daily.  The other rosaries I passed on to those who were in need.  She taught me about suffering and sacrifice.  She spoke and many non-Catholics wrote her and listen to her.  She had a simplicity to teach the very, at times, complications of the faith.  Coming back to Jesus was confess...

Lent is a special time of prayer, penance, sacrifice and good works in preparation of the celebration of Easter.  The emphasis of Lent must be placed on performing spiritual works, like attending the Stations of the Cross, attending Mass, making a weekly holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament, taking time for personal prayer and spiritual reading and most especially making a good confession and receiving sacramental absolution. Although the practices may have evolved over the centuries, the focus remains the same: to repent of sin, to renew our faith and to prepare to celebrate joyfully the mysteries of our salvation. Therefore, I am devoting my 40 days to my journey in Christ Jesus...I will be back after Easter...Please  pray for me!  Linda Mary

SPIRITUAL LESSON This Sunday having 30 minutes to kill before I had to dress for mass I sat outside in the beauty of the morning sunlight.  As I sat there I was talking to Papa God in thanksgiving and bemoaning to Him a small problem for I am a firm believer in BUGGING our Lord in all things and circumstances.  As I was explaining my plight a mother with her son passed very slowly in front of my gate.  They were unaware I was sitting there.  What I saw and the lesson it taught me came within the 30 minutes. The mother was disheveled, dress tattered, and hair was stringy and dirty.  She carried a bag partially filled along with a walking stick.  Her emotionless face of suffering hid her age she looks old.  As she walks she was talking either to her son or to herself. Her son around 12 or 13 whose clothing was equally in disarray and dirty.  His curly black hair had long lost it shine and was dull and dusky.  He too had a...

Life From Conception The battle of the human existence for a child begins at conception and since without a doubt life begins here many children are in trouble. The atrocities and total disregard for these vulnerable has become worldwide with the intolerance of their plight ignored by and large except for a dedicated few. The murdering of the Unborn is fiercely a lack of conscience for life and this river flows to many children given life only to be enslaved. Children are enslaved on many fronts some because of poverty where they are forced to work to help meet the daily expenses to survive. The children can be as young as five. They are denied an education, the working conditions are deplorable and the food given them is one meal equal to about two pieces of bread. They are expected to work long and odd hours and if they are lived in help to be at the beck and call of the family. There are children whom are bonded working off a loan taken by their improvised ...

CHILDREN

Image
CHILDREN It is known children of European Descent get an immediate reaction to their SUFFERING and MERCY is readily given. However, the children on the other side of the world in Asia/Africa the pictures are seen given an awe and flip away from our eyes and never enter the heart. I venture to say race, color, prejudices and hatred dispel any notion of true MERCY. It saddens my heart to know this is an acceptable behavior by many...One cannot proclaim Our Lord and His Word and have a heart that is harden to the plight of the suffering children on the other side of the world. They say a picture is worth 1000 words are they worth 1000 MERCIFUL HEARTS? © 2016 Linda Mary Liotino ME A SERVANT OF CHRIST MISSION
