THE MARCH
The march
What is the recourse for the citizens of Delhi to take when
the injustices are perpetrated against them?
In a DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY one recourse is to MARCH and in Delhi for one
reason or another the gathering of crowds to make a point is part of life
however, this is not afforded to the Catholic Community in the handling of
crimes against the church and the handling of them thereof. There has been in the last nine weeks five
Catholic Churches attacked the last being the DESECRATION of the HOLY SACRAMENT
at St Alphonso. This last injustice
bought the Catholic Church’s priests, nuns and the faithful to the streets to
MARCH against a lack of protection for the church. The Delhi Police whom cannot file an FIR
against the person or persons that committed these crimes can manage to
manhandle priests, nuns and the faithful by FORCIBLY SHOVING them on a bus,
which included some hitting as they are hauled off to jail.
The actions of the Catholic Church included a march in
front of home of Shri Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Home Affairs in the
Narendra Modi government (who are elected for and by the people) because of the
lack of protection as well as the lack of action from the Delhi Police whom was
giving this matter their SLOWEST BEST.
MY COMMENTARY:
The Catholic Church in India is a peaceful entity whose
priests and nuns work tirelessly to serve God, those in need in Delhi and
throughout India in LOVE, PRAYER, and SERVICE along with the faithful
volunteers.
Who is attacking the Catholic Church and why? What would be the motive given the nature of
the church to SERVE? Is it fear? Is it jealously? Is it wanting control? These questions begs for answering, however
given the history that is widespread here in India this is left to COMMON
SENSE, SPECULATION and solving the EQUATIONS.
In essence if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, guess what it is
a duck.
Bangalore Catholic priests, nuns, and Bishops MARCHED in
solidarity to the injustices against the church in Delhi peacefully while
praying the rosary. I am 68 years old
and a cradle Catholic and “I” have never seen a gathering of CARDINALS “MARCH”
because of an injustice against the church; they speak out, yes. They also MARCH in peace while praying and
singing Ave Marie.
I have not always agreed with the President of the United
States but he was right in what he said at the Delhi Town Hall before leaving
India about religious tolerance liken it to the life of Gandhiji. His response to the recent crises with the
Catholic Church he again referred back to Gandhiji however, as articulate of a
speaker he is, he stumbled over his words and came short of saying what
religion have a history of this behavior in India.
The Indian Government wants to be a player on the WORLD
STAGE be careful of your wants for there is price to pay, which is scrutiny.
