MOVING…YUCK I strongly DISLIKE moving and all that entails however, the move is good for us.  We lived in a predominately non-Christian neighborhood where there is only 1.55% Catholics and 2.5% Christians over all of a country of 1.252 billion.  My point being Christian neighbors are very far and few between.  Village life in India which I wanted to experience has been experienced.  The new house has a better floor plan for an aging and cane dependent me.  It has a small compound wall area with a big gate so the dogs have outside play area and I can do some planting and make a small grotto and prayer corner.  The amazing like it is the St. Joseph Cathedral, which is four minutes from us by car.  There is an in progress an amazing DIVINE MERCY Shrine I cannot wait to see it finished it is almost done.  Daily Mass at 6;30 a.m., a 24-hour ADORATION CHAPEL. ADVENT 2015 Advent is a time of PEACE and HOPE in anticipation of the spiritual wonder of CHRISTMAS.  It is a time to breathe in the beauty of the coming of OUR LORD.  We NEED to take extra quiet time and soak up OUR LORD through prayer and devotion.  The present situation in the world today CROWDS our minds with worries, fears, in occupation of all what ifs.  We have somehow allowed all the adverse activities of the world to take over our lives to the point we are forgetting PEACE and HOPE.  At times we cannot envision PEACE and HOPE for it is lost in terror of the terrorists. MONSOON 2015 TAMIL NADU My Life in India Praise God the Monsoon finally rested upon Tamil Nadu, India.  It has been a long drought which caused all rivers, lakes, ponds, and brooks to literally dry up and become pasture land for livestock.  Then there was the stealing of the sand from the riverbeds for the corrupt “Sand Mafia” while lining the pockets of many who look the other way.  The drought chased away the bird migration to the sanctuaries making them close down for over a year.  The water began reseeding in 2012 with full drought in play by the beginning of 2014 to present day.  I made a conscience commitment to pray for the end of the drought at the beginning of 2015 daily and for every drop of water that fell from the heavens I PRAISED GOD even if the rain lasted for a few minutes.  I prayed prayers of thanksgiving.  I will admit I was disappointed in the long wait between rains and the lengths but I was not giving up for I t...

  CYCLONE 2015 TAMIL NADU My life in India 11/10/15 November 9, 2015 was the day a Cyclone hit Tamil Nadu, India leaving us without power for 16+ hours.  The winds knocked several large trees and we were not spared.  Fortunately for us there was no damage leaving us the tedious job of removing it from the outside courtyard. INFANT CHILD JESUS I have always wanted a statue of the INFANT CHILD JESUS and I am on search for the one I saw in a gift shop some twenty years back.  When I saw the statue I wanted it was about 18 inches high with the most amazing red colored layered dress  exquisitely  made with precious stones.  It just took my breath away however, at that time so did the price over 100$.  I would go to the shop and buy other things keeping an eye on my statue (that I was saving to buy) making sure it was still in the shop. One day while driving home I saw the shop window was bare and shop vacated.  I cannot tell you how sad and heartbroken I was.  To this day I keep searching but in the meantime I bought a small ceramic statue. The statement about FREEDOM is not an absolute in all things is very true used in the right context.  However, when one tries to stretch this to cover personal beliefs, religious for sure then FREEDOM becomes a moot point.  Let me try to educate the educated who try to bully the common man to accept things that infringe on their FREEDOM.  Many so called FREEDOMS are not freedoms such as one cannot kill, threaten, bully, discriminate, force views, threaten the FREEDOMS of others, break secular laws and the list goes on.  However, no one but no one can FORCE their religious views on anyone else.  It is one’s FREEDOM to accept or reject their religion, convert to another or not. BLESSINGS FROM POONDI Last week end I spent two days at my favorite retreat OUR LADY OF LOURDES BASILICA POONDI, South India and like every time I go there I experience a presence of God that surpasses all understanding with a grace, miracle and or blessing.  This time I was used as an instrument of God; this is what happen: When I arrived at basilica I went to my room and outside the door of the next room was a man whose leg was bandaged up from the knee to his toes.  His face was all cut up actually he looked a mess.  I smiled at him but he just looked at me and so I went in my room.  The next day while sitting in my room with the door open a young women said hello and I invited her in.  She spoke a little English and my friend interpreted the rest for her and me.  She was the wife of the man next store and she told the story of what happen to him.  He was in a bad bike accident which caused the mus...

MISSIONARIES OF CHARITY Superior General of the Missionaries of Charity Sister Mary Prema decided not to continue the adoption services because of the new Indian government guidelines.  These guidelines go against the belief, children up for adoption should be adopted by married couples’ a father and mother if you will.  There is also the picking of a child from a group of six when the applications online is presented.  Sister Mary Prema believes that a child born is not known as should a child adopted.  The Missionaries of Charity is run by the guidelines set forth by its foundress Mother Teresa, which in their view will not be changed.  It is suggested by an India moderator on NDTV show THE BUCK STOPS HERE that the Missionaries of Charity views should change with the times.  The moderator worked hard at trying to cause a ruckus towards the sisters with her guest however, the guest being often of a different opinion of the sisters spoke with...

FRANCIS OF ASSISI The world is in turmoil on many fronts and the suffering seems endless.  The poor, marginalized, vulnerable, helpless, unborn, children and the like are victims of abuse, hatred, governmental red tape, war, environmental concerns, and the like.  Many are not given their humanitarian rights, freedom of expression and or religion.  They are pushed around seen as a non-entity and live in poverty.  The help given keeps many pushed down and those in refugee camps are there for generations to come without hope at the merciless hearts of others.  Babies are being born in some of these camps such as the ones in Turkey whom are not given documents such as a birth certificate.  They are babies without a country or proof they were ever born.  However, in the horror of this surly brief example of what is going on there are the people of God who keep the plight of the forgotten alive and those who serve them.  Many work again...
